Johannes Hofmann's Gipfel is a really cool piece of software: Give it a picture of a mountain range, a gps coordinate, and pick out where a few of the peaks are, and it guesses (correctly!) the names of the mountains, and puts labels on the rest of the mountains you might see in your picture.
