I forget how I found it (probably through chronic checking of reddit and its programming section), but this post-mortem of a webapp called Jonkenpon by a guy named Yong Fook is well written, entertaining and informative. Also referenced is a new project by the same guy that turns out to be really snazzy: Open Source Food — think of a dedicated Flickr on food with recipes.
