The BEFW11S4 v.4 I purchased so long ago appears to be finally working properly after flashing its firmware an enormous amount of times (... like 3). However... I've only been running Windows - I suspect that some sort of nasty thing happens between the router and my wireless card running the madwifi drivers under Linux after about 2 hours or so. The changelogs for the router firmware indicate that it's had Linux-compatibility problems before with malformed packets or something in that vein. In other tubular news, Kent M. of ITS fame has been given the steel boot recently. The consequences of this and the department losing a whack of staff due to members retiring means that the situation is currently very fluid - if departments like Music and Physics help push the idea, there's a possibility that the responsibilities of ITS could return to the CS department, or at the very least, we would have a heavy hand in the way that things would be run. I can only hope for the best.

Nope.

Never happen.

Doesn't make any business sense at all.
